JLS-mania hit a new high in London yesterday.

Hordes of screaming fans sparked a frenzy at Selfridges when The X Factor boyband turned up for a signing session of their new book ahead of its official launch today.

Aston Merrygold, 22, Marvin Humes, 25, JB Gill, 22, and Oritsé Williams, 22, certainly proved they have hit the big time as they were greeted by almost a thousand fans.

Some crazed admirers were so desperate to see the hunks they even camped out overnight.

But only about 400 of those who queued were able to attend the two-hour signing session.

And some office workers were trapped in buildings near to the Oxford Street store because they could not get out onto the street.

The crowds even shocked the boys themselves as they Tweeted: “Wow this is why we love you all sooooo much!”

Later Marvin posted: “Thanks to everyone who came down to signing. Heard you were camping overnight! Love you guys so much.”

The new book, Just Between Us: Our Private Diary, features behind-the-scenes photos of the band, who were runners-up in the 2008 series of The X Factor.
