JLS: Boys Keep Swinging
Britain’s hottest young boy band, are seated in a photographer’s studio in East London, catching up with the outside world on their laptops, iPads and mobiles. With 1.2 million copies of their selftitled debut album sold, three No 1 singles and an awards cabinet filled with Mobos and Brits, the group have made the most of their time in the limelight since finishing as runners-up to Alexandra Burke on The X Factor in 2008. Today, they’ve been on the promotional treadmill for their new second album, Outta This World. Earlier, they were in a nearby boxing ring where Aston, accidentally caught Oritsé in the jaw. Oritsé, for his part, was unruffled. “I did martial arts, which I loved, from when I was a kid up until The X Factor,” the 22-year-old smiles. “Then my label boss told me I wasn’t allowed to do it anymore.” “It’s his face, y’see,” quips JB, 23, the band’s musical maestro and quietest member. “We want to keep it that way.” |
